Privacy Policy
Last updated October 22, 2026
This explains what information VDO Artist collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. VDO Artist is operated by Big Little Business, LLC. We do not sell your personal information, and we don't run ads or advertising trackers.
Information we collect
If you just watch
- An anonymous browser ID. A random code stored in a cookie. It lets us count each view once a day, allow one thumbs up per video per device, and count unique supporters. It isn't linked to your name.
- Reports you send. The reason and any details you write, linked to that anonymous ID.
If you message an artist
- Your name, email address, and message, plus which video you were watching. These go only to that artist.
- Your anonymous browser ID and a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, used only to limit spam and enforce blocks. We don't store your raw IP address with the message.
If you donate
- The donation amount, the video, and an email address if you provide one at checkout for a receipt.
- Your card details go directly to Stripe. They never pass through or are stored on VDO Artist. Stripe's handling of payment information is covered by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
If you're an artist
- Account information: your artist name, email address, mobile number, and password. We store only a scrambled (hashed) version of your password, never the password itself.
- Your profile and videos: your bio, the videos you upload, and their titles and descriptions.
- Payout setup: Stripe collects the identity and bank details needed to pay you. We receive only your Stripe account ID and whether payouts are ready, not your bank or ID numbers.
- Moderation history: any strikes or moderation actions on your account.
Technical information
- Like any website, our servers and hosting provider briefly process your IP address to deliver pages and to block abuse (for example, limiting password-reset requests). We don't build profiles from it.
How we use it
- To run VDO Artist: show videos, count views, thumbs, and supporters, and rank videos.
- To process donations and pay artists, through Stripe.
- To keep accounts secure. Your mobile number is used only to text you a password-reset code and, if you turn on messages, an alert that a new message is waiting. We don't send marketing texts.
- To deliver messages between fans and artists (see below).
- To moderate content, prevent fraud and faked support, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To respond when you contact us.
What's public
An artist's name, bio, and videos (with titles, descriptions, and support counts) are public on VDO Artist. Donors are not shown publicly. Only the total number of supporters and views is displayed.
Messages between fans and artists
Artists can choose to let viewers contact them through VDO Artist. The relay is designed so that personal details are shared only when someone chooses to share them:
- Artists' contact details are never shown. A sender never sees an artist's email address or phone number.
- Senders share only what they type. The artist sees the sender's name, email address, and message so they can reply. Nobody else sees them.
- Replying is the artist's choice. If the artist replies, the reply comes from their own email, so the sender will see that address.
- Text alerts don't reveal anything. When a message arrives, the artist gets a short text saying a message is waiting. The text never includes the message or who sent it.
- Moderators see only reported messages. We don't read messages unless an artist reports one, or we're required to by law.
- Blocking and deleting. Artists can block, report, archive, or delete any message. Messages are deleted automatically after 12 months.
- We never sell, share, or use message contents or email addresses for marketing.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that run the site, and only what each one needs:
- Stripe: payments and artist payouts.
- Twilio: text messages to artists (their mobile number plus a reset code or a "new message" alert).
- Cloudflare: website hosting, security, and video delivery.
- Google Fonts: the site's typefaces are loaded from Google, which receives your IP address when a page loads.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people's safety, or to report illegal content such as child exploitation to the proper authorities. If VDO Artist is ever sold or merged, this information would transfer under the same protections.
Cookies
VDO Artist uses only a few cookies, all needed for the site to work: the anonymous browser ID (kept up to 2 years), a login cookie for artists (30 days), a login cookie for moderators, and a short-lived cookie that shows on-screen messages. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Share buttons are plain links. Facebook, X, and other platforms' scripts are not loaded on VDO Artist, so they can't track you here. If you click one, you go to that platform and its own privacy policy applies to what you post there.
How long we keep it
- Videos stay until the artist deletes them or they're removed for breaking the rules.
- Account information stays while the account is open. When an account is closed, we delete it, except records we must keep, such as donation and payout records needed for taxes, fraud prevention, and legal obligations.
- Messages between fans and artists are deleted after 12 months, or sooner if the artist deletes them.
- Password-reset codes expire in 10 minutes.
- We keep encrypted backups so nothing is lost if a server fails. Backups are kept for up to 30 days, then deleted, and a video an artist deletes is removed from the backup copy within a day.
Your choices and rights
- Artists can edit their bio, video titles and descriptions, and mobile number, turn messages on or off, and delete videos and messages at any time in My Studio.
- You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your personal information, or to close your account, by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, and we'll honor them.
- You can clear or block cookies in your browser. Watching will still work, but thumbs and view counts may not recognize your device.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), store passwords only in hashed form, and keep payment details with Stripe rather than on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected users if a breach occurs, as required by law.
Children
VDO Artist is not directed to children under 13, and artist accounts require being 18 or older. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. We'll post changes here with a new date, and notify artists of significant changes.
