How VDO Artist works

Watch free, no account needed. Support artists with any amount you choose. The videos fans support most rise to the top.

For viewers

• Watching is always free, no sign-up or membership.
• Give any amount from $1.00 with the “Support this artist” button.
• Thumbs up a video to help it climb (one per video per device).
• Report anything that breaks the rules with the report link under the video.
• Love a video? Hit Share to post it to Facebook, X, Threads, Reddit, WhatsApp and more, or send it by text or email. Sharing is one of the best free ways to help an artist grow.
• Want to hire an artist or work together? Use the Contact button on their videos or artist page.

For artists

• Free account for artists 18 and older. One account per person.
• Drag and drop videos into your studio: MP4, MOV, M4V or WebM, up to 2 GB and 20 minutes.
• We convert every video to 1080p, 720p and 480p so it streams smoothly on any connection.
• Your first 3 videos are checked by a moderator before they go public.
• You receive each donation minus a 8% platform fee and card processing, paid to your own account through Stripe.
• Turn on Messages in My Studio to let fans and clients reach you privately.

Contacting artists, privately

Artists can choose to show a Contact button (for example “Available for hire”). Messages go through VDO Artist, so personal details stay private:

• Fans never see an artist's email or phone number.
• The artist sees only the name, email, and message the sender typed, so they can decide whether to reply. If they reply, it comes from their own email.
• Artists get a text that a message is waiting. The text never includes the message or who sent it.
• No links, and a few messages a day per person. Artists can block or report anyone, and moderators can ban senders from messaging anyone.
• Moderators read only messages that are reported. Messages are deleted after 12 months.

Your videos belong to you

Every video uploaded to VDO Artist belongs to the artist who made it, and solely to that artist. VDO Artist claims no ownership of any artist's work and no rights to sell, license, or use it elsewhere.

The only permission we need is to store your video and show it on VDO Artist (streaming it, making the 1080p/720p/480p versions, and a thumbnail). That permission ends when you delete the video. We never sell your work or license it to anyone.

So please support the artists. Every donation goes to the person who made the work you're enjoying.

How ranking works

Each video earns a score from how many people support it (counts most), how much they give (on a sliding scale so one huge gift can't dominate), and thumbs up. New videos get a boost that fades over 14 days, so fresh work gets a fair shot.

Fair play

• No donating to your own videos, directly or through friends, family or extra accounts.
• No donation swaps, bots, paid thumbs, or prizes in exchange for support.
• Faked support is removed from the score. Repeat offenders lose their account.

Content rules

Original creative video for a general audience. Not allowed: nudity or sexual content of any kind, anything sexual involving minors (reported to NCMEC), graphic violence or gore, hate or harassment, content you don't own (including music), scams and spam, and illegal activity.

Strikes

• 1 strike: video removed and a warning.
• 2 strikes: uploads paused for 14 days.
• 3 strikes in 12 months: account closed.
• Illegal content: immediate permanent ban and report to authorities.
